Hooray, it’s yoga day!!
I know, I know. Everyone hates yoga. Most complaints are that it takes too long. An hour and a half! I’ve done some stuff in the past to get around it. Like say… playing it at 1.5x speed, replacing it with stretching, or skipping it altogether! Well last week a friend mentioned the One on One with Tony Horton series and the Fountain of Youth Yoga episode in particular. It’s only 45 minutes and sounded like a decent replacement for the normal Yoga X. This week I gave it a try.
The One on One series are different and it’s just Tony doing the workouts in his home gym with a camera man taping. He doesn’t crack a lot of jokes (at least not on this disc) and doesn’t spend a lot of time explaining things. He says right at the beginning of the program that this DVD can be used as a replacement in P90X because so many people hate that it takes too long. This yoga disk get to business fast. You still do most of the warrior poses and the half moon stuff that burns your butt, but it cuts out the balance poses and does less stretching.
I really liked it. There wasn’t a lot of cheesy music to listen too and like I mentioned, not a lot of cheesy jokes that get older the more times you press play. I think I’m going to add this to my routine in place of Yoga X from now on.
