Today was the day allotted for Yoga X in the P90X program. I find it very hard to get myself going on that. It takes an hour and a half to go through and just don’t have that kind of time most weeks. So I did the next best thing and did Fountain of Youth Yoga from the P90X: One on One series.
This routine is only 45 minutes and cuts out the standing poses and there are less downward dogs. There’s still plenty of stretching, and that’s what I’m really after. At the beginning of the video, Tony him self says that he made this as a replacement for the Yoga X DVD for those that don’t have the time.
I haven’t done yoga in, oh… 6 months? I can tell. I was stumbling through most of the half moons and took me a while before I was grabbing my feet in the stretches, which is still a hell of a lot better than the 3 inches from my toes I could do before P90X. I did feel some pain in my right wrist through the planks and vinyasas. I just had to take it real easy and place my hands just right to keep pressure off the pain points. During the stretching I could just breathe and watch The Big Bang Theory and I was done in no time!
Oh, and ABS AGAIN?? Geez!
