Here were are, less than a week from a new year. I’ve enjoyed my holiday season and I’ve gotten a bit soft as a result (hey, I never claimed to be FULLY fit!). Now the time is drawing near to buckle down and burn off that new fat and more!
I’ve began to prepare for the new workout routines that are found in the sequel to P90X. Some of the things that will take up the week leading into the new year are:
- Creating my workout schedule
- Taking measurements
- Taking my “before” photos
- Preparing snacks
- Trying out meals from the P90X2 Nutrition Guide
- Warming up with core routines
- Stretching
- Indulging
Doing this kind of preparation leading up to the new year really gets me excited about doing things right. The more I can get prepared ahead of time, the easier things will be at the times I feel less than motivated.
Stay tuned as there’s much more to come!

Hey Brett,
I hope you stuck with this, I see you haven’t blogged in a while. My plan is to start the P90X2 routine next January, in 2013.
I’m current going through P90X again right now, for the 2nd time. I’ve actually done it more than just once, but I kinda pick and choose workouts to do, and don’t follow the real plan. This time, however, I am following the plan as closely as I can, but I have replaced a couple of the cardio videos in P90X with a couple of the Insanity videos. Its pretty effective, imo.

Hey Jason, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stick through the entire P90X2 routine. I went a lot farther in it than my posts would indicate, but nagging shoulder and elbow issues caused me to stop short. Since then there’s been a lot of change in my life and a relocation that’s kept me from committing to another attempt. Gettin’ a little soft!
I know what you mean about the replacements. I’ve not done any of the insanity videos, but I do replace videos with things like Kenpo Cardio Plus from P90X Plus and Patience Hummingbird Yoga from the One on One series.
Hope you’re still at it and finding success!
