Today is Kenpo Cardio Plus. Nothing to dread. Just a nice easy heart rate boost. I normal kick it up a notch by adding 2 lb weighted gloves into the mix (BAM!?). And today I pressed play just like any other Saturday, but then I noticed something was wrong.
Half of the effort in the Kenpo routines are stopping your arms short so as to not hyper-extend your joints. With added weight, that makes it that much tougher and gives more of an arm workout. This week, however, I’ve been dealing with some shoulder socket issues. It feels loose at times and one of those times is apparently during kenpo.
About the time I started my first set of Double Hammer Swords, I felt quite a bit of pain as the extra weight pulled on my arms. So, unfortunately, the rest of the workout was done with bare hands. Without that additional weight, I was able to punch freely and without pain.
I hope this isn’t a chronic problem., for now, I’ll just keep on looking for the answer to “does a liquid diet help you lose weight?”
